It is right to rebel – Justice Markandey Katju

I spoke recently to two young Muslim women living in a city in UP, one being a doctor, and another an Asst Professor in a College. They are both unmarried, the first being in her late 20s, and the second in her early 30s.
I asked them why they have not got married ? After all, almost all women want to have a husband and children and settle down in life.

They replied that most Muslim young men are not highly educated, and therefore not of their level. And most of those who are, have migrated to the West or Middle East countries.

I then asked in that case why you don’t marry a non-Muslim who is highly qualified, and does not insist that you convert to his faith ? After all, Kareena Kapoor and many Hindu women married Muslims.
They replied that their parents would strongly object.

I then said don’t bother about your parents, it is your life, not theirs.
As a great leader of the 20th century said : It is right to rebel.
